Giving Till You Have Nothing Left

The problem with flexible people is that these types of people give so much to others that they completely forget about themselves and their own well-being. They give everything away and in the end have nothing left.
Give until you have nothing left

Many more people suffer from this problem than you might think. The main problem, however, is that this is fully accepted within our current society. These kinds of people put their own needs aside and continue to care in order to serve others.

As a result, these people can become ill, as they no longer think about or take care of themselves at all.

Flexible people always want to help. Do you need help with your move? Do you need a listening ear? A flexible person will be there for you.

Generosity That Hurts

The people who belong to this category are incredibly generous. They are  too generous. They don’t think about receiving, only about giving.

Give until you have nothing left

However, this is very dangerous. Not everyone is of a good nature. There are also plenty of toxic people out there who are out to manipulate, lie to and rob others of their energy. Of course, generosity in itself is not bad.

  • However, when your generosity allows someone to take advantage of you, this is not good.
  • You need to think about yourself first, even though you may have grown up thinking that this would make you “selfish”.
  • Once you’ve learned to take care of yourself, you’re ready to help others.
  • However, always keep certain boundaries to protect yourself as much as possible.

Flexible people are like slaves

One who continues to give becomes a slave to others. He is always at their disposal, no matter the circumstances.

Laugh

These types of people are often not assertive at all. They always try to adapt to circumstances and the requests and demands of others. It doesn’t matter if this makes them feel bad about themselves.

Flexible people are always willing to solve the problems of others, even if it means that they themselves will suffer in the process.

While these types of people act as servants, they try to develop empathy and a certain intuition to sense the wishes of others. However, as soon as they themselves need help one day, in most cases they will not get it.

These are such good people who give so much to others that they end up being used, abused and undervalued themselves.

Reconnecting with your inner ‘I’

You can make yourself less flexible, but for this you have to undergo a difficult journey: the journey to reconnect with your inner “I.”

  • This true “you” has lost its way after you put it aside and paid no more attention to it.
  • This is what you need to take care of now. You have watched your life fall from your hands into the hands of others.
  • Luck? You are only happy when everyone around you is and you are not capable of making yourself happy.

Does this seem fair to you?

Inner peace

Always depending on others, always doing everything for others instead of for yourself, always being too good and generous: this is not positive.

Turn your gaze inward and look for that person who has lost their way. The person who had dreams, wishes and goals. This person hasn’t disappeared, he’s just hidden somewhere! So take a good look inside yourself.

What do you want besides giving?

You have realized that giving yourself completely to others does not make you happy. There is no point in constantly putting the needs of others above your own. Although you may not want to believe it, deep down you know it hurts. Please accept this fact.

Everything you have done for others all this time has completely consumed you. It’s important to keep a few simple tips in mind as you try to stop this behavior:

  • If someone asks you for a favor, take your time to think it through. Don’t automatically say “yes.” You don’t have to say “yes” at all. Wait a minute, think about it and find out if you really want to and can do it.
  • If it’s actually better to say “no”, say so. Accept that it is not good at all to always say “yes” to everything. This is especially true if the request goes against your principles or values or you just don’t feel like it.
  • You are not selfish. You love and respect yourself.
  • Put your guilt aside. This feeling will overtake you, but don’t take it too seriously. This guilt will try to bring you back to where you started.
  • Take care of yourself and give yourself some time. Do everything you’ve done for others for yourself. You are the most important, the main priority. If you don’t worry about yourself, who will?

Do you recognize yourself in this?

If you have discovered a flexible person in yourself, now is the time to release it. We all need to learn to put ourselves first. You are not selfish. You are generous to yourself.
